Peacebuilding & Sustainable Development in Colombia

Partnered with Utah State University, the RootEd Global Colombia program explores innovative approaches to sustainability and community development across the Andean region.

Participants will begin in Medellín with a cultural immersion experience in Comuna 13, then travel to Manizales to engage in university-led initiatives focused on sustainable food systems, black soldier fly composting, and local agriculture. The journey continues with site visits exploring how coffee and rum production connect cultural heritage with economic empowerment. In Dorada, students will engage in meaningful community projects alongside local partners.

This program blends fieldwork, education, and cultural exchange in one of Latin America’s most dynamic and resilient countries.

Students may apply to earn academic credit through Utah State University or join the program as a non-credit participant.
