History and Community Development

Partnered with Utah State University, the RootEd Global Mongolia program offers an immersive journey into the cultural heritage, history, and rural life of Central Asia.
Participants will explore Ulaanbaatar through guided visits to monasteries, museums, and cultural performances, gaining insight into Mongolia’s rich past and present. The program then moves into the countryside, where students will engage with schools and rural communities to learn about education, infrastructure, and local development needs.

Along the way, participants will ride horses across the steppe, stay in traditional gers, and visit iconic landmarks such as Karakorum and the Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue. This program integrates cultural exchange, hands-on learning, and community connection in a land known for its nomadic traditions and sweeping landscapes.

Students may apply to earn academic credit through Utah State University or join the program as a non-credit participant.
