Connect to Community
Join us in Morocco for a hands-on exploration of sustainability and community resilience that combines meaningful community engagement, cultural immersion, and global learning. Learn alongside local organizations, educators, and community members addressing challenges such as water scarcity, environmental change, migration, and sustainable development. Through service-learning, cultural exchange, and interfaith and intercultural dialogue, experience how communities draw on local knowledge, relationships, and collective action to build solutions for the future.
About the Program
Partnered with Utah State University, the RootEd Global Morocco program offers an immersive exploration of sustainability, environmental sociology, resource management, and global communication through lived experience across Morocco. Students will examine how communities respond to water scarcity, climate stress, migration, and development challenges while exploring the relationships between environment, culture, religion, communication, and social change.

Traveling through Morocco’s urban centers, rural communities, and desert regions, students will learn alongside universities, NGOs, grassroots organizations, faith-based initiatives, and community partners working toward locally grounded solutions. University lectures, field visits, service-learning projects, cultural exchange, and interfaith dialogue connect academic learning with the realities of sustainability and resilience in diverse communities.

Students may earn 3 academic credits through Utah State University in SOC 4900: Capstone Experience or SOC 6900: Independent Reading in Sociology.
